The flat die-cutting machine can be used for various types of die-cutting. The vertical flat die cutting machine is mainly divided into two parts: the fuselage and the press frame. The die-cut plate is mounted on the fuselage. According to its action mode, there are two types: single pendulum and double pendulum. The single pendulum type means that when die-cutting, the press frame swings, the body does not move (that is, the plate table does not move), the plate table and the lower part of the press frame contact first, and then the upper part contacts. The double pendulum type means that during die-cutting, both the fuselage and the press frame move. Vertical flat die cutting machine can be divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic according to the degree of automation.

At present, the vertical flat die-cutting machines produced in China are mainly semi-automatic, the die-cutting is done by the machine, and the paper feeding and delivery are done manually. Due to the low price of this equipment, the production and sales volume is relatively large. In addition, a fully automatic vertical flat die-cutting machine has been developed at home and abroad, from paper feeding, die-cutting or hot stamping, to paper delivery, all automatically completed. The typical domestic equipment is the TYM750 hot stamping die-cutting machine developed by Beiren Group Company in 2003. This machine is currently the most advanced post-press equipment at home and abroad. It has two functions of die-cutting and hot stamping. The whole process of die-cutting and hot stamping is automatically completed from paper feeding, die-cutting or hot stamping to paper delivery. It is easy to operate and convenient. With a high degree of automation, it is widely used in hot stamping, embossing and die cutting of paper and cardboard, and can also be used in die cutting and hot stamping of some other printing materials. Due to its advanced technology and high degree of automation, the product price is relatively high. At present, it is difficult to promote this product in China, and it is mainly sold to European and American countries.

Horizontal flat-bed die-cutting machine has two paper feeding methods: flat sheet and roll paper. In addition to die-cutting, it can also have stripping and bronzing functions. The horizontal flat-bed die-cutting machine with roll paper feeding is mainly used for die-cutting printed matter such as self-adhesive labels and trademarks. Sheet-fed horizontal flat-bed die-cutting machine is the most widely used model with the fastest technological development.
